Appointments :
Animation model and membership
- Discussion on membership criteria and use of tools such as the wiki and campaign in a box will move forward through the wiki, so as to document and come to a general consensus. In this sense, the decision from the SG is not to give the Animators more access to the tools than the general members. Though giving them access to the banners and other kind of advertising
- Training of new animators: an idea is to elaborate some training and check-in e-mails, to stay in touch with new members. We will use the wiki, the user manual, and the FAQ as useful tools, too.
- The paragraph on recruitment is done. After a brief discussion was decided to set a flexible five hours per month time commitment, in order not to scare people away, and encourage participation on this first stage. (Please, if you have any additional comments on this issues post it at the wiki asap)
- The group developing the potential animators list is still finalizing the first round of people to contact. The contacting should start once finalized the recruitment paragraph. That is, right now!
Animators meetings
- We are moving from each three weeks to monthly meetings. We are keeping regular meetings though on a flexible basis: dates won’t be rigid and will be fixed taking on account the number of animators available to attend (at least five?)
- Also, there is general agreement to open up the meetings to the (new) general animators, as it’s a very positive collective discussion instance (at least once and then see what happens). A separate meeting for the core animators group could be scheduled if necessary (in case of trouble, events or urgent matters to discuss about). Hence, the two kinds of meetings are not mutually excluding.
- Inés to circulate between animators a tentative schedule asap, containing conference’s dates for the rest of the year, and a list of rotative chairs as well. All animators should block that time off!
Another news
- Karen announced that, after two years of hard working at BIC she is moving this summer to Netcentric Campaigns, where she will be working around social networks and web based organizing tools. She will continue, of course, involved with IFIwatching community and IFIWn. Thus, she will remain in discussions and conferences. We deeply thank Karen for all the work she has devoted into IFIWn and collectively congratulate her on this new role!
