IFIwatchnet now seeking ANIMATORS!
IFIwatchnet is a groundbreaking initiative in international NGO networking, connecting organizations worldwide which are monitoring international financial institutions (IFIs) such as the World Bank, the IMF and regional development banks. It is a web-based platform for collaboration between groups at national, regional and international levels. IFIwatchnet is not an NGO and it does not undertake monitoring or campaigning work itself, rather it supports the work undertaken by participants. It aims to:
- Compile and make easily available independent information about IFIs from a broad range of civil society sources;
- Improve communication between IFIwatchers, increasing mutual awareness of current debates, campaigns, publications, video and other activities;
- Increase the efficiency and effectiveness of IFIwatching organizations through new information-sharing approaches
IFIwatchnet is now recruiting ANIMATORS. Animators effectively serve as the ‘champions’ of an issue or campaign on the site, through posting documents, blog entries, events, videos and editorial features. Animators are expected not only to post information themselves, but also to encourage and facilitate the posting of information by others working on the issue or campaign they animate.
In exchange for providing this valuable service to the IFIwatching community, Animators will have exclusive access to some of the most exciting promotional features of the site, including the homepage ‘banner’ feature. The logos of Animators' home organisations will also rotate on the IFIWatchnet homepage.
Animators will receive training, ongoing support and site usage statistics to indicate the value of time and energy invested here. IFIwatchnet tools are easy to use, and Animators may be expected to spend up to 5 hours per month publicising, posting and encouraging the posting of information to the site.
